Community training opportunities coming August 2018

Here at Georgetown Scott County EMS, we’re passionate about education. Part of our passion for education, is preparing members of our community to make a difference before we arrive. Currently, we are an American Heart Association training center and provide CPR & First-aid courses. We will begin offering a regular monthly Heart Saver CPR/AED course the 3rd Thursday of every month. Please refer to our training schedule for the next coming date of CPR class. Pre-registration is required for this course, the links are available on the training schedule page.

Beginning in August, we will begin offering the “Stop the Bleed” basic course to anyone interested. This course is created by the American College of Surgeons and designed for all people. We will spend some time in the classroom reviewing materials, and we will spend some time doing hands-on practice. We will hold our first Stop the Bleed course August 25th, please see the training schedule for the registration link (will be posted the week of July 17th)

These 2 programs provide simple, effective training that can be employed by anyone to make a difference in an emergency. If you’re interested in either of these courses, please contact us for more information!!
