This is the first of our new series of interviews with current staff. On Monday’s we’ll be sharing an interview from a paramedic and on Tuesday’s we’ll share an interview with an EMT or AEMT.

Welcome to #TechTuesday

Today we would like to introduce you to EMT Ryan Yarbrough!  Take it away EMT Yarbrough:

Where are you originally from?

            Valdosta, GA

What do you do outside of work?

Motorcycles, “wrenching,” diesel power, but I also like operas and theatre.

How did you get interested/started in EMS?

My aunt was a nurse for over 30 years.  I use to call and talk about calls that I had on during ride time.

What brought you to Georgetown?

Phil Halley (an EMT here) talked this agency up.  When I spoke to a fee other fellow EMS friends, they recommended GSCEMS due to the fact that we are fast-paced and progressive in our scope of practice in the workplace. What is your position at GSCEMS?

It says EMT on my shirt, but I like to go as the Mule.  First platoon is my shift day!

What is your favorite thing about EMS/your job?

I would say some fo the patients are a delight to talk to.  Especially the older generation that has been round and watched Georgetown grow.  Making a connection with a patient in their time of need is always a plus.

Where in Scott County would you take a visitor?

The Toyota Plant, but then to Evan’s Orchard.
